The following is a very informative video from the Von Mises Institute as a primer to understanding our current banking system and it's history from a non-hysterical point of view. Though it was produced in the 90's, you can definitely see the writing on the wall as to how we got into the mess we are currently in and how it is not going to get fundamentally better until we fix the whole system..
